Now that you've been working on the Dashboard and you're familiar with Barn pages and Bin pages, it's time to unlock the true power of your data with our Order Manager and Feed Budgets. 

In this article you will find guides on how to Create and Manage a Feed Budget. Attach that budget to Barns and keep up-to-date on your orders with our calendar.

Basics Review

You have been using the BinSentry Dashboard and mastered the fundamentals, including;

Step 1 - Adding Feed Budgets

  • Learn about Feed Types
      • Ensure accurate orders by having the right texture and bulk density. 
      • Set-up feeds based on manuals already in BinSentry or create your own feed type.
  • Attaching a Feed Budget
      • Schedule when animals will arrive to barn (and how many).
      • Which bins you want feed to be delivered to.
      • Use Suggested Orders if a budget has not been created.

Step 2 - Minimize Feed Outages

  • Optimize last loads using the ordering tool
  • Keep feed budgets up-to-date and keep animal counts accurate.
  • Utilize bin levels to forecast inventory and resources

  • Understand how to set up your notifications for a Barn, to provide great customer service and stay on top of orders.
        • React to outages before your customer. 
        • Insight to how slides are being managed. 
  • Optimizing last loads - using the ordering tool
  • Reviewing where your budgets are applied and maintaining animal counts (update livability/mortality). 

If you're comfortable in the ordering tool, setting feed budgets and using the scheduler to plan your orders for the entire group of animals by phase, you're on your way to being a Super User!
